Collection and Processing of Personal Data

You can generally visit the European Resilience Alliance website anonymously, i.e., without telling us who you are. When you visit the website, our web servers automatically process the IP address you use to access our website, the website from which you are visiting our site, the files you access on our site, the date of your visit, and general information about your browser. This data is processed to ensure the security of the web servers and to efficiently adapt the display of the requested information to your output device. Evaluations for statistical purposes are conducted exclusively in anonymized form.

We store and process personal data only if you voluntarily provide this information to us, e.g., when filling out a contact form or registering for personalized services. On the respective sections or websites, you will be informed of the intended purpose of use and, if necessary, asked for your consent to the storage and processing. Data is only shared with affiliated thyssenkrupp Decarbon Technologies companies and service providers, such as to send you the requested written information. Naturally, all service providers are bound by data secrecy and confidentiality obligations. Data is not shared with any other third parties. Your data is always encrypted prior to transmission and processing to protect it against unauthorized access.

Cookies

Cookies are text files that are stored on your computer or other device. The use of cookies helps us analyze your use of the website, improve the services and products we offer, enhance security, and prevent fraud attempts. We distinguish between different types of cookies:

Session cookies are temporary cookie files that are automatically deleted as soon as you close your browser.

Persistent cookies are cookie files that remain stored until they are actively deleted or automatically removed after a certain period of time.

First-party cookies are cookies set directly by us.

Third-party cookies are cookies set by a third-party provider.

On certain pages, personal data may be stored in cookies if you have expressly consented to this beforehand, e.g., to avoid having to re-enter login credentials. In principle, you can still access all information on our websites even if you have disabled cookies in your web browser. If you do not accept cookies, this may result in functional limitations of our services.

You grant your consent by clicking “Accept All” or through the individual settings you have configured. Your data may then also be processed in third countries outside the EU, such as the U.S., which do not have a comparable level of data protection as in the EU and where, in particular, access by local authorities may not be effectively prevented. The legal basis for this is Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. If you do not agree to this, you may withdraw your consent at any time.

Below you will find detailed information about the individual services on our website:[TO1]

Contact Form

thyssenkrupp Decarbon Technologies GmbH processes the following data about you to handle your inquiry, provided you provide it in the contact form: first name, last name, email, country, phone number, and the content of your inquiry. We will share your personal data with recipients if this is necessary to fulfill your request. The legal basis for processing your personal data depends on your request and may arise from a contract with you (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR), your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR), or a balancing of interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) based on our legitimate interest in providing you with good service. We are supported by our IT service providers as data processors in the operation of our contact form. We process your data—if the processing is based on your consent—until you withdraw your consent, or—if the processing is based on a balancing of interests—until you object to it, or for the purpose of your inquiry until it is resolved. Processing your request is not possible without providing the data necessary to contact you and to understand and process your request. Any additional information is voluntary. This service is intended only for persons over the age of 18.

If we process your personal data based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), you may withdraw this consent at any time with future effect. If we process your personal data based on a balancing of interests (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), you may object to the processing at any time with future effect.

In addition, we process “referrer” information in connection with your use of the contact form (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR), which is deleted after no later than 4 weeks. Without the collection of this information, the use of the contact form is technically not possible.

Please note that inquiries are processed via the Microsoft Dynamics program and your data is stored there in connection with your request.

Your Data Protection Rights

You have the right to request information about the data stored regarding your person pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR. Furthermore, you may request the rectification or erasure of your data pursuant to Art. 16 and 17 GDPR. You may also have the right to restrict the processing of your data pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR, as well as the right to receive the data you have provided in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR, provided that this does not infringe upon the rights and freedoms of others. If you have given us consent to process your data, you may revoke this consent at any time in any form and without adverse consequences. Please note that the revocation does not affect the lawfulness of data processing carried out prior to the revocation and that it does not extend to data processing for which another legal basis exists and which may therefore be carried out even without your consent.

To exercise these rights, please contact the controller or data protection officer listed below.

Pursuant to Article 77 of the GDPR, you also have the option to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.

Information regarding your right to object under Article 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you that is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) of the EU GDPR (data processing based on a balancing of interests); this also applies to any profiling based on this provision within the meaning of Article 4(4) of the GDPR.

If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. The objection may be submitted in any form and should, if possible, be addressed to the controller or data protection officer named in the privacy policy below.
